Blue Therapy

Many bloggers, travellers, tourists have described this destination as 'The Most Romantic Seas, Exotic Holidays, Paradise for Couples etc...' But for me it is the 'Blue Therapy... - Maldives'

Where the blue skies blends with the clear blue waters it paints the blue shades from the Paradise. It brings out images which no Camera can click, it is the beauty which no picture can depict, you just have to see it......

Now why I call this Blue Therapy.... we the sophisticated metropolitans are all engulfed by the hush, rush and buzz of the cities and to thrive and sail through the tough lives we all resort to many short lived de-stressing therapies likes spas, meditation, yoga etc. Every passing day we wish for a break, get away, holidays. Call it the perks of being associated with the Travel Industry (Air Channel Travels), once again we got lucky and were invited to visit one of the finest properties on the Maldivian Oceans.

The Anantara * Maldives Resort & Spa

Located south of Male (approx 35mins by speed boats, privately arranged by the resort.) stands to be one of the unique properties of Maldives as it offers internal connectivity to three of its finest privately owned properties Dhigu -- Veli -- Naladu. Each of these stand-alone resorts are built to cater to various guests. The hospitality and service offered by the Anantara Team creates special memories.

Accommodation Plan at Anantara

Dhigu - Precisely designed resort for the family travellers.

The beach bungalows categories are built on the sands which lead you directly to blue waters, The Over Water Villas leads you directly into the lagoon.

The resort is child friendly and also offers some small play areas for the kids.

"The greatest advantage of being the guest at Anantara Dhigu was we could also access and enjoy the Veli resort, specially because of the restaurants which widens our choice of relishing different cuisines every night....."

Naladu - Exclusively designed quiet, spacious Ocean and Beach Houses with Ancient Victorian Theme with artistically built  private pool for the high end luxury travellers. This part of the island offers quiet, spacious room with personal butler services. The Maldivian Swing depicts the perfect luxury offered.

Food Spread at Anantara - For the non-vegetarians the entire ocean can be brought to your platter. Well the vegetarians or the new generation vegans need not worry as the chefs specialities cooked in the authentic flavours and style can be quite appetizing.

Varied range of cuisines have been brought down on the island right from the Ban Huraa which serves authentic flavours of Thailand to Origami which spreads the Japanese - Sushi on the platter with the chefs special touch. The Terrazzo and the Sea Fire Salt on Dhigu are built on the wooden deck over the lagoon serving Special Italian to freshly prepared local Maldivian dishes.

"Being vegetarians we always have limited number of items that can be ordered from the menu but as i mentioned the different restaurants across the two resorts gave us options to chose from to satisfy our palates and moods. On our first night we stuck to the standard Italian Pizza. On the second night we crossed over to Veli and relished the spicy Thai speciality dishes...."

"Our third dinner was at Origami...sssllluurrrppp  mentioning about it brings back the mouth watering memories, well as we read the menu we were pretty apprehensive and lost as what to order but  on our specific request the chef with his culinary expertise specially prepared vegetarian recipes with the authentic Japanese flavours and spices..."

The Aqua Bar - one of the finest infinity pools created overlooking the blue ocean waters. It serves light meal's throughout the day to keep you flowing and floating, keeping the body well hydrated and completely immersing your soul in the blue waters.

"Or I would call it The Blue Bar it is where I spent all my evenings encompassing the blissful sunsets by floating in the soothing blue waters of the pool and sipping refreshing drinks from the bar The clear blue skies, the blue sea and complete blue ambience calms your mind and rejuvenates all your senses.... The time spent at the Aqua Bar is why I felt it worked as a Blue Therapy for me..."

"On a relaxing, pampered holiday working out in the gym is something we procrastinate and eventually skip it just promising ourselves to work out harder once back home... one afternoon I just entered the Gym out of curiosity, the cleanliness,  the wide and hi-end range of Cardio Work Out equipments, well spaced gym just triggered the blood and I burned out the calories and was feeling light... my only holiday where I actually picked up the heavy weights too...."

Guests are offered complementary snorkelling equipments to view the breath-taking marine life.

The excursion centre offers Kayaks for all the guests to ride over the blue waters to the Picnic Islands (private island exclusively accessible only for Anantara Guests).

"On our second day, it was bright and sunny but however was a little windy with the June breeze blowing, after breakfast we grabbed our snorkelling gears and booked our kayak from the diving centre and sailed off to the picnic islands... rowing through the waves and the clear blue water being in the middle of the ocean is simply fun....."

The resort also has their private diving and surfing teams for the adventurous souls.
